Bigger surf today with a little bump on it.
Heat #16 Round 96: The waves are hiding for this heat. Glenn Hall takes 1st and Wiggoly Dantas grabs 2nd to advance to the next round. Occy does not advance.
Heat #15 Round of 96: Josh Kerr is on fire, red jersey and all. Big carving, critical turns and boosting a few airs to boot. Kerr takes this heat. Gavin Gillete takes 2nd with some very underrated (under scored?) surfing to take out Ian Walsh.
Heat #14 Round of 96: Joel Pakinson has the first 10 of the contest; throwing a tail slide on a 14 foot face at Haleiwa – wow. Parko got a 19.87 for the heat. I’ll post the video when it’s available – unreal heat. Evan Valiere takes 2nd in the heat.

The waves are smaller today.
Clash of the Legends heat today looks like it’s going to be the highest total scoring heat for the day. Tom Curren and Sunny Garcia’s little battle yesterday seems to have stimulated some nice competition.
Early round heats needed a restart due to conditions. Glassy surf connecting through the inside on only some sets. Peaks is funky and the toilet is still working, but only the Hawaiians seem to be riding it and that’s helping them advance.
Hawaiian locals tearing it up. Torrey Miester still has the highest scoring ride of the contest 9.73 Looks like Torrey might be trying for better than an overall 3rd he got last year in the Triple Crown.
Clash of the Legends heats continue. Round 1 of the Clash of the Legends saw the highest scoring heat in the contest so far, so this afternoon’s heat should be pretty good.
